I am 39 and I viewed this movie on TV in 1979 and found it tobe one of my favorite movies of all time.

OK -- I admit that I saw this move at the theater when it first came out, and I have less hair now. OK, OK, a LOT less hair. Doesn't change the fact that of thousands of movies since then, this is one of a few that has stuck in memory, and I'd like to own a copy.
