The item is very heavy but is shipped in a cheap cardboard box. It arrived via fedex damaged; so did its replacement. The splitter needs to be packed in a wooden crate or at least a tougher box with handles. If you can buy the splitter off the shelf, I suspect it would work great, but if you have it shipped to you, expect it to be damaged.
